The Ohio Department of Natural Resources' Natural Resources Park at the ohio state fair is a large area in the corner of the fairgrounds dedicated to educating people about the various natural environments that exist within the state of Ohio. The park contains a pavilion with educational material, aquariums, and touch tanks. It also contains an area for kayaking, multiple watercraft simulators, and a creek. There's the amphitheater, where different shows are performed, and the butterfly house and aviary. The Natural Resources park also contains Smokey Bear, who speaks to visitors and knows fairgoers' names!

The amphitheater.

The amphitheater at the NRP houses multiple shows during the length of the fair, most notably the Great Lakes Timber Show, which displays various timber-focused activities, like axe-throwing, saw competitions, and log rolling. The amphitheater also houses wildlife shows, the All-Ohio Youth Band and Choir, and K-9 shows, among many others. The amphitheater has a large basin that, during the fair, is filled with water, connected to a decorative waterfall off to the left.
